The Vekyes wanted to hit up this Hong Kong style place which was running discounts on high end seafood. Then a few months later I came back with Yarom and Sklar.
The outside decor is very 50s or 60s.
The inside, maybe 1970s. haha.
But we had the “VIP room”, which was still out of the 1980s.
Peanuts and Candied Walnuts.
Awesome XO sauce. Not even that heavy on the MSG (which was great).
More sauces.
At advanced behest they served us up this rare and special soup.
Fresh Geoduck Sashimi. Not the best of this I’ve had, but very very good.
The fried geoduck neck was amazing.
Stir Fried Geoduck.
“Clam” (Geoduck) soup.
Great price on the crab too.
King Crab, steamed with garlic.
King Crab fried rice.
King Crab Typhoon Style.
Excellent Typhoon style lobster.
Juicy clams.
Bullfrog with Jalapenos.
Goose!
Roast goose (really good).
Squab.
French Style Beef take 1. Sweet but tender.
Tender French Style Beef take 2.
Beef Tendon Clay Pot in brown sauce. I much prefer the curry sauce over the brown, but this was still a solid dish.
Tofu and Mushrooms. Always love this.
Pea Tendrils.
Preserved Meat Chow Fun. I would have preferred fried rice but this was excellent.
Drunken chicken.
Sesame Ball Soup with flowers. Quite nice for weird Chinese desserts.
Coconut and Cappuccino Gelato.
Overall, this place is very cafe-like in the front, but they have an excellent private room and can do quite excellent Hong Kong style banquet (with a hint of Viet perhaps). The prices are good too. So it’s a solid find for very good Hong Kong / Southern Chinese.
